Art Displays

Individuals or groups interested in displaying artwork in the Centennial Student Union, appropriate to the educational setting of the University, may contact the Centennial Student Union Communication Coordinator (CSU 220). Displays may not interfere with the daily business functions of the Centennial Student Union. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 Statement

The Centennial Student Union Art Gallery is managed in partnership with the Fine Arts Department and is used to showcase student, faculty and alumni work. Additional displays of works appropriate to the educational mission of the University may be displayed in public spaces throughout the Centennial Student Union with permission from the CSU Associate Director of Operations. Displays may not interfere with the daily business functions of the Centennial Student Union.

The Centennial Student Union Gallery is devoted to the exhibition of student art and creative projects. Art display locations provide a unique visibility to invite viewers of all ages from the university and community into the space.

The Centennial Student Union reserves the right to resolve the suitability of any work and to cancel any exhibit should unforeseen conditions or situations arise.

Procedures

 Parties wishing to display artwork in public spaces of the Centennial Student Union should contact the Communications Coordinator for approval. Requests will be considered on a case by case basis; issues such as, but not limited to, space requested, educational mission, time of year, and activity in the building will be considered.

Rationale

The Centennial Student Union is a place for student work, ideas and interests to be presented. The goal of this procedure is to provide space for artistic expression without interfering with daily use of the building by all.
