Residence Communities Close at 7 p.m. Friday, December 12
Students will not have access to their hall during break unless they register for Winter Break Housing.
Before closing, staff will check all rooms to ensure safety and security. Any policy violations found during this process will be documented and addressed in January.
Students who stay without registering will be charged the full break rate + an administrative fee and may face disciplinary action.
PARKING & Loading
Crawford, McElroy, and Preska residents may utilize Residence Hall Validated Guest Stalls in Lot 15 and 14A as a loading zone, as well as the West curb on Ellis Ave and the yellow curb next to Lot 14 beginning at 6 a.m. on Dec 10. Hazard lights must be on, limit time at curb to 15 minutes or less, and move your vehicle to a permitted lot after loading.
Julia Sears residents may load up on the West curbside of West Road beginning at 6 a.m. on Dec 10. Hazard lights must be on, limit time at curb to 15 minutes or less, and move your vehicle to a permitted lot after loading.
Parking enforcement of Dark Green, Light Green, and Stripe will stop at 6 a.m. on Friday, December 12.
Gold, Flowbird, vendor, accessibility, and fire lanes remain enforced.
DEC 13-JAN 11
- No permit is required in the Free lot, Orange lots, Purple Lots, Dark Green Lots, Light Green, and Stripe Lots.
- Enforcement is still in effect for Gold, Flowbird Timed Stalls, and the Visitor's Paylot. There is no overnight parking between the hours of 2-6 a.m. and will be subject to ticketing and towing.
- If you have a guest during Winter Break, they should park in Lot 16 Light Green and Lot 14 Stripe.
Full parking enforcement will resume Monday, January 12 at 12:01 a.m. You will need to be back in your regular permit area by Sunday, January 11 at 3 p.m. as this allows everyone returning from Winter Break to be in the lot that they have a permit for.
TAKE YOUR CAR WITH YOU
If you have a car on campus, it must be taken with you over break — vehicles cannot remain parked in residence hall lots unless you're registered.
- Cars left for more than 7 days may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
BATHROOM INSPECTIONS
Suite and apartment residents should clean their bathrooms before Winter Break inspections to avoid cleaning charges.
- If a bathroom doesn’t meet inspection standards, custodial staff will clean it and all roommates will share the charge.
SPRING OPENING
Residence halls reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026.
- Students may return any time after that.
WINTER BREAK REGISTRATION
Complete the form below by Friday, December 5 to save $55. Registration will be acceped until Friday, December 12.
- Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 10.
Register for Winter Break Housing
Eligibility
- Only residents returning for Spring Semester are eligible to register for Winter Break Housing.
- Residents will stay in their own room during the break period.
Food Service
- The University Dining Center closes at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 12.
- Food service is not provided during Winter Break. Mav Ave in the CSU will be open limited hours during break.
Cost
- Residents who register by December 5 will pay $510 (early bird rate).
- Residents who register after December 5 will pay $565.
- Stadium Heights residents may stay in their room for Winter Break for no additional charge if they register by December 5. After this date, Stadium Heights residents who register will pay $50.
Parking
- Only registered residents are eligible to park their cars on campus during Winter Break. Unregistered cars are subject to towing.
- Registered residents who live on main campus should park in Lot 14 stripe or Lot 16 Light Green for overnight parking needs. Stadium Heights residents may keep their cars in the parking lots in front of their buildings.
