Preska Move-In (Fall)

This map is for students moving into Preska Residence Community. Follow the driving route on the map, NOT the directions your GPS will tell you to follow. Your route is designed to assist traffic flow across campus on this busy day.

Make sure you enter the staging area in Lot 16. As space becomes available, you will be directed to the unloading zone at Preska.

Move-In Tips

  • You will have 15 minutes to unload your vehicle curbside outside of Preska.
  • Move Crew volunteers will help unload your belongings to the curb and can watch belongings until they are moved to your room. Move Crew is available until 3 p.m.
  • Make sure one person stays with your vehicle at all times while unloading.
  • Trailers are not allowed in this unloading zone. Go to the designated unloading area in Lot 16.
  • After the vehicle is emptied, you MUST move the vehicle to long-term parking in Lot 1 or 20. You can ride a free shuttle back to Preska Residence Community to reunite with family.
  • Vehicles with handicap permits may park in Lot 16 after unloading.

CHECK-IN AT THE PRESKA LOBBY

  • Bring your MavCARD (we will scan it).
  • You will be issued your room key and will be able to check out a flatbed cart.

FLATBED CARTS

  • A limited number of flatbed carts will be available for checkout in the lobby.
  • Students or family members may check these out with an ID.

SHUTTLES

  • Free shuttles will run continuously from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Preska students and families should get on at the bus shelter on Maywood Avenue (in front of Preska) or Lots 1 & 20.

NEW STUDENT & FAMILY DINNER

  • The first meal provided to students is the New Student & Family Dinner 4-6 p.m. in the University Dining Center.
  • Students may use any of their three guest meals to pay for family/friend admission (or you may pay the door rate of $9.38).
  • Children five and under are free.

AVOID TICKETING & TOWING

  • Do not park in barricaded areas, areas with cones, yellow spaces, Gold lots, or facility stalls.
  • After 3 p.m. on August 20, students and guests can park in green lots without a permit through 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 23 (when enforcement begins). Make sure your car is in the correct lot by this time to avoid getting ticketed.
