Groups

Departments that require a group of students to move in early should contact Torin Akey as soon as they have an arrival date in mind.

If you are a student affiliated with a group who requests early arrival, do not submit an individual early arrival request. Your coach/instructor/director will provide your information to us.

International Students

Newly admitted international students with a housing assignment may request early arrival using the Early Arrival Request Form (available December 1 in the Housing & Dining Portal). Only students with advance approval from Residential Life will be allowed to move-in early.

Cost

Students arriving prior to January 7 will be billed $20 per night for their early arrival. Meals are not included in the early arrival cost. Early arrival charges are billed to the student's account. The first meal offered by the student's meal plan is lunch on Friday, January 7.

Approval Process

After a student submits their request, they can expect to receive an email response within three business days. If the request is approved, the student will receive check-in instructions.

Note: If you cancel your 2021-22 Housing Contract, you are no longer eligible for early arrival housing, and your request will be canceled.

If you have questions about the international early arrival request process, contact Nicole Faust.

Students

We recognize that some students may have circumstances that require them to arrive on campus sooner than Move-In Day (such as on-campus employment or family reasons).

Process

Students should submit an Early Arrival Request Form in the Housing & Dining Portal (form will be available December 1). Students can expect an email response within three business days. If approved, check-in instructions will be provided.

Dates

Arrival may begin on Monday, January 3 and take place any day after that. Students will specify the date they would like to move-in on their Early Arrival Request.

Cost

Students who arrive prior to January 7 will be billed $20 per night to their University account. Meals are not included in this cost. The first meal offered by the student's meal plan is lunch on Friday, January 7.

If you have questions about the early arrival process for students, contact Torin Akey.
