International Student Health Insurance

Health Insurance for International students is required by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. This insurance coverage is provided by UnitedHealthcare Student Resources and can be purchased through the Cashier's office at Minnesota State Mankato or online.
 
Returning international students are required to purchase the health insurance offered by Minesota State Mankato by July 28, 2023. This annual health insurance coverage begins August 10, 2023 and goes through August 9, 2024.  This is an illness and injury policy and has limited coverage for preventative care.  A brochure outlining International student health insurance benefits is available online by going to www.uhcsr.com and entering Minnesota State University Mankato as the school name. 2023-2024 International Student Health Insurance Plan

  • The 2023-2024 premium for the International health insurance is estimated at $2289. 
  • If your insurance premium is not paid by July 28, 2023, your fall classes will be dropped.
  • You can start making payments now, using the pre-pay option in e-services (Pre-payment 95090) or at the Cashier's Office

Create an Account

Create an account online with UnitedHealthcare Student Resources website to access to your ID card and your benefits. When creating your online account, be sure to use your TechID, not your StarID.  Please answer the question as to whether you have other insurance each policy year. Claims will not get paid until this is answered every year.

Electronic ID Card 

You can access your ID Card via My Account:  Go to www.uhcsr.com/MyAccount. Once you’ve logged in, click the ID Card button. With the ‘View or Print ID Card’ option, you can open a PDF of your card for printing or displaying. Or you can request a permanent card be mailed to you.

After Hours Virtual Care

International students who have purchased the Student Insurance have access to free medical advice and health information when Student Health Services is closed by dialing the number listed on the permanent ID card.   The HealthiestYou program is staffed by physicians who can assist with medical care or answer questions.

If Student Health Services is closed and you need Urgent Care:

Student Health Services is the primary clinic responsible for providing care and referring when needed. Please note that students are responsible for fees charged at off-campus facilities. To find a Network provider/clinic when Student Health Services is closed or you are traveling go to:  www.uhcsr.com and enter Minnesota State University Mankato.  Both MayoClinic Health Systems-Mankato and the Mankato Clinic are In-Network.
