Accessible Text Copyright Acknowledgement
In accordance with U.S. Copyright Law and Minnesota State University, Mankato policy, accessible versions of course materials are provided solely to eligible students registered with Accessibility Resources. Unauthorized sharing, copying, or distribution of these materials is strictly prohibited.
By accepting these materials, the student agrees to the following terms:
- Eligibility
- The student is registered with Accessibility Resources and has an approved accommodation that requires course materials in an alternative, accessible format different from the one they already own or purchased.
- Current Enrollment
- The student is enrolled in the course for which the alternative format materials were requested at the time of the request.
- Restrictions on Use
- The student will not copy, reproduce, share, distribute, or permit others to use these specialized format materials.
- Proof of Possession
- The student confirms they have lawful access to the original course materials—through purchase, rental, or borrowing—and will provide proof of such access required by Accessibility Resources on behalf of the copyright holder.
Non-compliance with these conditions constitutes a violation of university policy and may result in disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, referral to the Office of Student Conduct. Additionally, such violations may expose the University to copyright infringement claims, potentially jeopardizing existing agreements with accessible text providers and requiring direct negotiations with publishers.
