Accommodated Testing: Student Guide
The Accommodated Testing space in Accessibility Resources provides a quiet, accessible space to take tests if you have approved testing accommodations. This guide explains how to schedule, what to expect, and why these steps matter.

Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Requesting accommodations in MavAccess at the start of each semester. This alerts your instructors and AR staff.
- Scheduling tests at least 3 school days in advance. This ensures we have space and staff ready for you.
- Following the testing rules to maintain academic integrity.
Scheduling
Here’s how to schedule:
- Log in to MavAccess → “Accommodated Testing” → “Schedule an Exam.”
- Schedule tests for the same time as your class, unless your instructor approves a different time.
- You can check your scheduled tests at any time in the MavAccess Accommodated Testing module.
- To modify a request, visit the same page, then click "All Exam Requests" in the top right corner. Click "View" next to any request to review the information and make any needed changes.
When you don’t need AR:
You may not need to schedule with AR if:
- Your exam is take-home, and you have a quiet space you prefer.
- The exam is in a lab, and you’re attending a session for AR students.
- Your professor is proctoring the test outside AR, and it meets your accommodation plan.
- You choose to take the test in class with your peers without accommodations.
Test Day
When you arrive:
- Bring your MavCard or photo ID.
- Use the restroom before your scheduled time.
- Store personal items (phones, smartwatches, bags) in cubbies.
- Bring only approved materials listed by your instructor.
- For online exams:
- Log in to D2L and have the start page open before your scheduled time.
- Use eduroam Wi-Fi for better connectivity. More information in this Knowledge Base article: Connecting to eduroam.
- If using LockDown Browser, show staff that you submitted the test before leaving.
