First-year applicants will be admitted if they graduated with national curriculum results of 12-13 (Assez Bien) or better.

Undergraduate students receive guaranteed admission offers by meeting the minimum admission criteria. We are a SAT test-optional university and do not require personal statements, letters of recommendation or extra-curricular involvement for admission consideration.

International Undergraduate Admission Criteria: 

  • Must provide proof of completion of secondary education (generally 12 years). 
  • Cumulative academic results must be equivalent to or greater than U.S. 2.0 GPA grading system.  
  • Meet one of the minimum standards for English Proficiency 
  • TOEFL iBT 61 or PBT 500 
  • IELTS 5.5 

Quality education does not need to be expensive. Our nationally ranked and accredited programs are offered at affordable tuition rates of less than $10,000 USD per academic year with an automatic scholarship for international students.

Dedicated, full-time faculty ensure students’ academic needs and education are the primary focus of the institution.

Faculty are also required to hold a minimum of 10 office hours for student advising each week, allowing students to build relationships with their faculty, and academic advisors.

University Security advances the mission of Minnesota State University, Mankato by maintaining a safe and secure living, learning, and working environment in partnership with the community we serve. 

The Mankato Department of Public Safety consists of police, fire, and emergency management services and is committed to the service model of community governance. Staff works in partnership with city departments, the residential and business community, and other governmental and non-profit agencies to reduce crime, provide a sense of safety and security, and improve the quality of life for those who visit, live, and work in the city of Mankato and the region.

Career counseling is available from the time students enroll and alumni resources are available for students even after graduation. 

The Career Development Center hosts 5 annual career fairs with potential employers, individual career planning, and job search assistance. Everything students need to be successful in the professional world is available to them here at Minnesota State Mankato.

Professional program tracks, known as “Pre-Professional” programs, offer the academic pathway to successful careers in Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and more.

As a top 20 university offering undergraduate research in the U.S., the Undergraduate Research Center allows students the opportunity to join ongoing or new research alongside faculty mentors. 

Do you have a research interest or idea in mind? You don’t need to wait until your graduate program to put your research into practice. The university invests in undergraduate students by awarding grants to support student research work. $70,000 USD were awarded to student research initiatives during the past 3 years.

Do you have an interest in multiple career fields or want to specialize in your education? Double majors, certificates, and minor programs allow students to pursue education across different academic disciplines and focus on specialized skills. Students apply to the university, rather than a specific academic program.

This allows students to choose any major they are interested when they enroll at MNSU. Some programs will require admission to the major later on during the program, but this allows students the flexibility to try classes from different majors and academic disciplines during their undergraduate education.
