TRADITIONAL PSEO STUDENT FAQS

While we believe our site is pretty comprehensive, we know that we haven't answered all of the questions. Here you'll find a list of some of the most common questions we receive along with steps that you can take to resolve the issues. If your question isn't answered, you can email pseo@mnsu.edu.

StarID Recovery

The StarID is a username for use at all the institutions within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. If you are using your StarID for the first time and/or do not have a password, you will first need to activate your StarID and create your password.

If you've forgotten your StarID or StarID password you can go through the recovery steps.

I took MSU courses last year, do I need to reapply?

Nope! Students who have previously enrolled for concurrent enrollment will not need to reapply. For example, a student who enrolled in English 101 spring semester will not need to reapply to the university fall semester. The application is required for students who have not enrolled or been admitted to the university previously.

If you previously applied and were not admitted, or applied for the wrong semester, we will require you to reapply to campus.

When should I apply?

Students planning on taking fall classes should plan to apply in April – May, prior to summer vacation. Students planning on taking spring classes should plan to apply in November – December, prior to winter break. Students are encouraged to apply early because the Admissions Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato will receive hundreds of applications in a short time period. It’s important that adequate time is given to review and process applications. Late applications are not guaranteed to be reviewed.

I Need to Withdraw from A PSEO Course

It's important to understand that a withdrawal will appear on your university transcripts and could affect your standing with Minnesota State Mankato and your ability to continue with the PSEO program.

For detailed information, and a walkthrough, please see our How To Withdraw from a Class document.

Transferring Credits

Students are responsible for having their PSEO and concurrent enrollment credits transferred to other institutions. Students should request to have official transcripts sent. If you are attending another school within the MinnState system you will not have to request your transcript, just let that school know you have a record with Minnesota State Mankato. The University of Minnesota system is not part of MinnState and students will need to request to have their official transcripts sent for evaluation.

The process can be completed online through our Registrar's Office site or by visiting Transcripts and Verifications.

If you're wondering how your credits will transfer to another institution or, how courses from another school will transfer to Minnesota State University, we recommend using www.transferology.com. Here you can creat a free account and learn how credits will transfer. Students can use this site to make informed decisions on courses to register for.

Not every institution is listed on Transferology. If you don't see one of the schools you're interested in enrolling in, please contact that school directly.
