COMPETITION Packet

Theme : 2023 – Mavericks in paradise

Beyond the campus-wide celebration, Minnesota State University, Mankato's Homecoming Week involves a series of contests to foster school spirit. All Minnesota State University, Mankato students are encouraged to participate in the events. Participating organizations will need to submit a final roster and application to the Student Activities office by Wednesday, September 27 at 11:59 pm. Additionally, team captains must attend the mandatory Homecoming competition team meeting on TBD.

For a group to receive prize money, they must have a 901 account (on-campus account). Prize money will be transferred to your 901 account and can only be used for travel, programming on campus, or convention fees. Divisions

The two divisons that students may participate in are: 

Purple Division

The Purple Division will consist of groups that have under fifty students. Note that ten members is the minimum for a competition team. The group can consist of Greek groups, RSO groups, Res Life groups or a combination of all to form a homecoming team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in this category:

  • 1st Place: $250 & traveling trophy
  • 2nd Place: $175
  • 3rd Place: $100

Gold Division

The Gold Division will consist of groups that have fifty or more students. The group can consist of Greek groups, RSO groups, Res Life groups or a combination of all to form a homecoming team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in this category:

  • 1st Place: $250 & traveling trophy
  • 2nd Place: $175
  • 3rd Place: $100

Two All-Spirit Awards will be awarded: One to the team with the highest overall point total and one to the team voted by the Homecoming Committee to have the most spirit throughout the week. This team will receive a traveling trophy. Additionally, each team awarded will be rewarded $150.
