Faculty Honor Marshals

During our traditional commencement ceremonies, a highly regarded faculty member serves as an ambassador from each academic college and sits on stage with the platform party. This year, the faculty honor marshals from each college are represented here instead.


College of Allied Health and Nursing

Dr. Marge Murray-Davis

Dr. Marge Murray-Davis joined the Health Science department at Minnesota State University, Mankato 33 years ago. She started as an undergraduate at Minnesota State Mankato, and received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Murray-Davis considers her time teaching here an honor. Dr. Murray-Davis will retire from the University in May 2020.


College of Arts and Humanities

Dr. Paul J. Hustoles

Dr. Paul J. Hustoles will be retiring this summer after 35 years of service to the University as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance, Artistic Director of Highland Summer Theatre and Acting Vice President of University Advancement (twice!). He became a Distinguished Faculty Scholar in 2012 and has served on the Executive Board of the Faculty Association for more than 25 years (and is currently the FA Vice President and Chief Grievance Officer). Dr. Hustoles was the Co-Chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee and will come back from retirement to direct Mama Mia! (cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis) in April of 2021. Tickets now on sale!


College of Business

Dr. Kathleen M. Dale

Dr. Kathleen M. Dale is the chairperson of the Management Department and a professor of Management. Her areas of expertise include Organizational Theory and Business Policy, and she teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in these areas. In addition to serving as department chairperson, Kathleen serves on the College of Business Accreditation Team, the Curriculum Management Team, and on the Adult Learner Team. Her current research interests include issues in small business management, the use of business simulations in the classroom, role stress, and leadership.


College of Education

Dr. Ron Browne

Dr. Ron Browne is a faculty member within the Elementary and Literacy Education department. Dr. Browne has been with the University since 1996. His teaching and research has surrounded science, STEM, and educational technologies, including working to bring 3-D printing and coding into our STEM certificate program. Dr. Brown has a passion for improving the teaching of Indigenous peoples, especially in Alaska.


College of Science, Engineering, and Technology

Dr. Michael Bentley

Dr. Michael Bentley is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and has been a member of the faculty since 1989. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1983, and subsequently he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow and a Research Associate in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn. Dr. Bentley is a Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Minnesota State University, Mankato and is an author of more than 40 scientific papers.


College of Social and Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Rosemary Krawczyk

Dr. Rosemary Krawczyk joined the Psychology Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1984. During her career at Minnesota State Mankato, she served as the Psychology Department chairperson for 13 years. Her teaching and research interests have focused on child psychology and the psychology of women. Dr. Krawczyk will retire from the University in May 2020.
