Ready to expand your worldview and level up your English in an inspiring, globally minded community? Designed for college-age students and recent high school graduates, the Intensive English Program (IEP) for Global Citizens blends dynamic classroom learning with real-world cultural immersion. Strengthen your communication skills, build global perspectives, and explore the best of Minnesota alongside supportive instructors and new friends from around the world.

Authentic Campus Life & Lifelong Friendships: Live in on-campus housing, share meals with peers, and build lasting global connections through student mixers, conversation clubs, and one-on-one domestic language partner pairings.
Targeted Language Mastery: Complete 48 hours of focused instruction covering oral presentations, group discussions, academic writing, vocabulary development, and critical case studies on global issues.
Real-World Connection: Practice conversational English in a relaxed setting through dedicated Conversation Clubs (2 hrs/week) and the Language Partners Program (2 hrs/week), which pairs you directly with domestic MSU students for authentic cultural exchange.
Accessible Entry: Open to high school graduates (age 18+) with at least a beginner level of English. Submit an existing English score (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) from the last two years, or simply take our on-campus placement test on Day 1.
Minnesota Adventures & Campus Life: Experience on-campus living while taking part in an action-packed activity schedule—including a Minnesota Twins game at Target Field, a canoe trip on the Mississippi River, Mall of America visits, rock climbing, campfire nights, and local Mankato tours.
All-Inclusive Flat Fee: For $3,200, your tuition, course materials, language partner programming, medical insurance, airport transfers, on-campus housing, 3 meals a day, and all scheduled social activities/excursions are 100% covered. You only need to purchase your flights and secure your visitor visa or ESTA waiver.
