Youth Rock Climbing Camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato

Reach new heights at rock climbing camp this summer! This skills camp is a great introduction to the sport of rock climbing. Learn the basics of top-rope rock climbing at MSU, Mankato’s indoor climbing wall and outdoor climbing pinnacle. Participants will be led and instructed by MSU, Mankato’s Maverick Adventures staff on basic climbing movement, general equipment, climbing commands, basic climbing knots and will play some climbing games. These sessions are a great way to learn and get involved in a challenging, active, and rewarding sport! All equipment is provided and the sessions are tailored for all skill levels!

Included in the Camp Registration:

Check out the Campus Recreation Portal for the current offerings of youth summer camps that are being offered through Maverick Adventures.

  1. First go to the Campus Recreation Portal webpage. Computer access has the best user experience.
  2. Click on 'Programs'.
  3. Select the Maverick Adventures Summer Camp Offerings Classification.
  4. See the various sessions organized by age-group that are available. 

If you have climbed with us before, you likely have an existing account through My Campus Rec.

  1. On your phone or computer, go to mycampusrec.mnsu.edu. Computer access has the best user experience.
  2. Click the ‘Sign In’ icon in the upper-right corner and enter the email on your account. Select ‘Sign In’.
  3. If you have not set a password or have forgotten it, select ‘Trouble Signing In’ then ‘Reset Password’.
  4. You will receive an email with instructions to reset your password. After completing that process, you will be able to access your account by clicking the ‘Sign In’ icon in the upper-right on the webpage again and entering your email and password.

Create an account in the Campus Recreation Portal to sign up for summer camps.

  1. On your phone or computer, go to mycampusrec.mnsu.edu. Computer access has the best user experience.
  2. Click the ‘Sign In’ icon in the upper-right corner and choose ‘Sign Up’.
  3. Fill in the relevant information to create an account. If you are creating an account for someone else (a child, family member, etc.), be sure to use their name and birthday when creating the account. Additional family members can be added later.
  4. On the homepage, click the bell icon in the upper-right corner.
  5. Click on the ‘Facility Access’ alert to sign your Facility Access Waiver. This waiver is valid for 365 days.
  6. Read the waiver in its entirety. Then, use your finger or curser to sign the waiver. Click ‘Sign Now’.
  7. Additional family members can be added on your profile in the upper-right.

Once an account has been created, you can add additional family members.

  1. Click your email in the upper-right and select ‘Profile’.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of your profile and select ‘Add Family Member’.
  3. Enter the relevant information and select ‘Save’.
  4. At the top, you can switch the viewing settings to different family members.
  1. Once logged in, click ‘Programs’ and then select the 'Maverick Adventures - Summer Camp Offerings' classification. Click on the age group offerings for your child.
  2. Select a session by clicking ‘Select’ next to the offering and then ‘Register’ at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Select family member(s) to register, then click ‘Register’.
  4. Choose your payment method and provided the required information before clicking ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
  5. Confirm your program details before clicking ‘Checkout’.
  6. You will receive a receipt via email and your program details can be found on your profile under ‘Program Registrations’.

 

Multiple children registering for the same session:

  1. Once you have selected a session, click 'Register'. An option will appear to select or add any family members which fit the age group.
  2. Select everyone registering for that session and click 'Register'.
  3. Complete the waivers and participant details to enter the sessions into your cart before registering for additional sessions.

Multiple children registering for different sessions:

  1. Once an initial participant's registration has been added to your shopping cart, click on 'Continue Shopping' and return to the session offerings page to select additional sessions.
  2. Once all your sessions are added, return to your shopping cart by clicking on the cart icon in the upper right of the website and select 'Go to Cart Page' to complete payment.
