Access Codes

What is an access code?

Some majors require students to get an access code before they’re allowed to register for the next term.

Codes are meant to be given out by students’ academic- advisors-of-record, to ensure that they have met with their advisor, and have a solid plan moving forward.

If you do not know who your advisor is, find the steps to do so on the Find Your Advisor webpage.

How do I know if I need an access code?

You should be contacted by your department (often through MavMail) if you need a code – NOT ALL DEPARTMENTS REQUIRE A CODE!

You can also check in E-services. Try to register for a class (even if your window is not open yet). If you receive an error message that suggests you need a code, follow up with your academic advisor.
