Common Market Program

The Common Market Program allows students who are already admitted to Minnesota State Mankato to take courses at Bethany Lutheran College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Bemidji State University or Metropolitan State University without needing to go through the admissions process.

To qualify for the Common Market Program, the student must have at least a 2.0 GPA, be an undergraduate student, and be classified as a sophomore or higher.

There are two versions of the Common Market Program: MinnState and Private

MinnState Schools:

There are only two MinnState schools that require a Common Market Program request. Those are Bemidji State University and Metropolitan State University.

Minnesota State Mankato Students: The Common Market Program allows students who are already admitted to Minnesota State Mankato to take courses at either Bemidji State University or Metropolitan State University, without needing to go through the admissions process. You may take one course from either of the listed institutions during any given semester that you are eligible and apply. The form to apply can be found here.

Bemidji State and Metropolitan State Students: The Common Market Program allows students who are already admitted to these institutions to take courses at Minnesota State Mankato, without needing to go through the admissions process. You may take one course from Minnesota State Mankato during any given semester that you are eligible and apply. The form to apply can be found at your home institution.

Private Schools:

There are only two schools that currently require a Common Market Program request. Those are Gustavus Adolphus College and Bethany Lutheran College.

Bethany Lutheran or Gustavus Adolphus Students: The Common Market Program allows students who are already admitted to these institutions to take courses at Minnesota State Mankato, without needing to go through the admissions process. You may take one course from Minnesota State Mankato during any given semester that you are eligible and apply.
