Elementary Education UpperClass Learning Community

The Discover the Classroom: Elementary Education Learning Community experience continues the commitment to "campus and career connectedness." In this learning community, you'll receive intensive academic advising to prepare for admission to the Elementary Education major, develop a sense of community and commitment to the profession of education and continue to develop an understanding of the knowledge, dispositions, and skills needed for teaching elementary-aged students.

Fall Courses

(enrollment in all learning community sections of the courses is required unless college credit is already earned for the course or an academic advisor recommends changes):

  • EEC 222W: Human Relations & Cultural Diversity (3 credits)
  • EEC 210: Intro to Elementary Education (2 credits)
  • ENG 325: Children’s Literature (3 credits)
  • MATH 201: Elements of Math I (3 credits)
  • ART 225: Developing Creativity: Approaches and Techniques (3 credits)
  • PHYS 280: Lab Experience in Physical Science (3 credits)

Spring Courses

  • BIOL 280: Biology Lab Experience Elementary Teachers (3 credits)
