Education
-
Bachelors of Science in Political Science - North Dakota State University - Class of 2017
-
Masters of Science in Counseling and Student Development - Kansas State University - Class of 2019
Previous Positions
- Prior to my current role, I served as a Hall Director over a suite-style community of over 275 residents at North Dakota State University. I was in the role for two years post-master's work before transitioning to the Department of Residential Life. I have served in my current role in Residential Life since June 2021.
What I Like about Being a Maverick
- I like being a Maverick because I get to work and engage in a community that is always working hard to improve the world around them. Both our students and my coworkers are not afraid of a challenge and work hard to rise to the occasion. It makes coming to work each day exciting because I know at the end of the day we are always striving to improve the on-campus experience.
Professional Development/Involvement/Interests
- In everything I do, I value Life-long learning, Student Voice, and Advocacy with the goal of bringing the student voice to the center of their experience. In that work, I am also very passionate about Equity, Inclusion, and Justice issues and work hard to ground my expertise while supporting every student as they navigate their time as a Maverick!
- Some of my favorite projects and initiatives I have worked on since arriving at Minnesota State University, Mankato are creating the department's Land Acknowledgement, leading the department's annual student staff training for our entire Residence Education Staff, organizing and assembling Community Development initiatives for our staff, developing a new department partnership with Student Activities for Homecoming, and serving on a variety of campus and departmental hiring committees.
Hobbies
- When not working, I enjoy playing tabletop or video games, reading thriller/horror novels, playing with my puppy and kitty, and eating my way through Mankato’s many hot spots. I like spending time thrifting and visiting antique stores, putting together LEGO sets, listening to History podcasts, and journaling the day away.
