Why did you choose to go into college health?
I chose college health because I enjoy working with the student population and am passionate about being a resource for students and helping them achieve their health goals. I also attended MNSU as a student and appreciated the comprehensive care that is readily available and easily accessible for students.
What type of visits do you enjoy the best?
I really enjoy all types of visits, but especially enjoy focusing on preventive health care and health promotion. I find it important to get to know the patient and to understand their background and specific health concerns.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my role is knowing that I can be a resource to patients with whatever health concern they may have, and to be able to help patients become engaged in their health and achieve their health goals.
What's unique about the care that patients receive at Student Health Services?
Students have easy access to comprehensive healthcare, a variety of health services, and many healthcare resources, all readily available at Student Health Services. We can spend quality time with patients, listen to their health concerns, and really focus on providing comprehensive care.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, going on vacations, and making memories with my children. We enjoy spending time out on the lake. I also have a special interest in interior design and enjoy doing home renovation projects.
