The Violence Awareness and Response Program provides confidential advocacy for students impacted by sexual violence and relationship abuse, as well as prevention education and outreach opportunities. We are the only office on campus that has credentialed confidential sexual assault/domestic violence advocates as defined through MN state law (Minn. Stat. § 595.02). We are also the primary office on campus responsible for in-depth education on bystander intervention, harm reduction, consent, healthy relationships, and trauma-informed care.

All information and records will not be shared with anyone outside the office unless you provide permission. The only exceptions are for child abuse, threats of harm to self or others, or elder abuse.

Prevention Education and Involvement
We provide education and outreach to normalize conversations on violence prevention and promote involvement. Through presentations and events, we empower students and staff to build healthy relationships, adopt harm-reduction strategies and foster a non-violent culture at MSU Mankato.
