Matt Melchior, Director of Campus Recreation

Matt is entering his first year as the Director of Campus Recreation, overseeing staff, facilities, budget, programs and services in Intramural Sports, Open Recreation, Fitness Activities, Sport Clubs, and Maverick Adventures.

Education

He received his Bachelor's Degrees in Sport and Recreation Leadership from North Dakota State University and a Master's Degree in Sports Management from Concordia University, St. Paul.

Experience

Matt has a combined 10+ years of experience within the sports and recreation industry. Prior to joining Minnesota State University Mankato, he spent time as the Director of Recreational Programs at Eastern Washington University and the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Off-campus Experiences

In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys along with enjoying the outdoors, coaching lacrosse, playing golf and being an avid Minnesota Sports Fan.
