Mary Flynn, PhD, RD, LDN will explore popular weight loss diets, discussing pros and cons of each, how to spot a fad diet, and which foods promote healthy weight loss and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Presenter:
Mary M. Flynn, Ph.D., R.D., L.D.N., in an Associate Professor of Medicine (Clinical) at Brown University and a Research Dietitian at the Miriam Hospital, where she has worked since 1984. Her main interest is how food can be used as medicine, with a focus on extra virgin olive oil. She is the co-author of Low-Fat Lies, High-Fat Frauds and the Healthiest Diet in the World (Lifeline Press, 1999) as well as The Pink Ribbon Diet: A Revolutionary New Weight Loss Plan to Lower Your Breast Cancer Risk (Da Capo Press, 2010).
