Every year there are 450,000 to 500,000 sudden cardiac arrests in the United States that occur in an outside the hospital setting. New research on how to improve outside the hospital cardiac arrest survival, particularly if bystander care is initiated, is available. It is imperative that lay people have quality instruction on emergency response care to the patient including CPR, AED use and immediate care of the cardiac arrest patient. This 1 to 1 1/2-hour class will cover new research, emergency assessment, hands only CPR, AED use and care of the patient. You will leave this class feeling knowledgeable and confident in handling a critical medical emergency. Time for hands-on practice and questions will be provided.
