Immigration Basics & The Local Immigration Underworld

This program is an overview of the country’s immigration system from its historical and legal foundations to the recent changes in the policies and practices of the US Department of Homeland Security. Like the environment created by Prohibition, the current immigration environment has produced a criminal underworld that preys upon immigrants seeking the American dream, even here in Mankato. Group discussion of immigration reforms that could be considered will follow the presentation.

Presenter:

David Norman is an authorized legal representative accredited by the US Department of Justice to advise and assist in the filing of immigration and citizenship forms and evidence. He has assisted nearly 250 immigrants naturalize over the last three years. David is also an ordained minister with The Wesleyan Church. He has a BA in Bible as well as MDiv and MBA degrees.
