A university professor shares her research about how various cities around the world deal with their dark pasts – or avoid them. She discusses how different sites deal with terrible things that have happened, from disasters to murders.

Dr. Heidelberg is an urban studies professor at MSU Mankato who is an historic preservation specialist. She is said to have merged her academic studies with her "penchant for the heebie-jeebies."
