2026 marks the centennial of the death of President Lincoln’s eldest, and only son, who lived to adulthood: Robert Todd Lincoln. To commemorate that event, Lincoln historian, Bryce Stenzel, will be offering an in-depth look at Robert Lincoln’s career as a prominent attorney, Secretary of War (under presidents Garfield and Arthur), Minister to Great Britain and President of the Pullman Railroad Car Company. He will also discuss the lives of Robert Lincoln’s wife, children, and grandchildren, highlighting lesser known, but interesting facts about this prominent American family.

Presenter:

Bryce O. Stenzel – Bryce, a Mankato native, earned his B.S. in Social Studies and M.A. in History, summa cum laude, from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He has taught all levels, written extensively on local history, the Civil War, and Abraham Lincoln, and has portrayed Lincoln as a costumed interpreter nationwide for over 35 years. Bryce serves as President of the Friends of the Boy in Blue Civil War Veterans Memorial, the Mankato Area Community Band, and the Le Sueur County Historical Society, and as Secretary of the New Ulm Civil War Artillery Battery.
