The Spring Pledge Drive is Coming!

Greetings, Radio Hero!

There's something truly special about Minnesota this time of year. We're coming out of some cold and snowy days, the temps are gradually getting warmer, and some well-placed sunshine can kick start an amazing day. This is also the time of year when a Radio Hero's fancy turns to thoughts of pledge drive. That's right! The KMSU's Spring Pledge Drive kicks off on Wednesday, April 22 and we'd love to hear from you!

 

KMSU is fond of saying “together we make great radio” when we talk about our listeners, but that's only because it's absolutely true. Everything we've done for over six decades is because of your amazing support. Community is the beating heart of this radio station, and it's an honor to share our broadcast day with you, whether it's taking song requests, fielding questions for our on-air guests, or just having a conversation about what's going on in the world. We're honored that you've made KMSU a part of your day.

 

The past year has been a tough one for public media funding, and it has really emphasized just how significant local support is for community broadcasters. Your generosity helps give the voices of folks in our neck of the woods a place to be heard, with the additional bonus of supporting the artists and musicians that make life in Minnesota richer and more vibrant. Listener pledges keep things like the KMSU app free and available, making it easier than ever to discover all that KMSU, The Minnesota Music Channel, and Mav FM have to offer, and allowing these unique stations to reach an audience far beyond our broadcast area. Your generosity also helps us maintain and improve the essential nuts-and-bolts behind the scenes parts of the station that make us go. At every level you are supporting community voices. This is 100% proof that together we make great radio.

 

The pledge drive begins on April 22, and you'll hear KMSU personalities from all over our schedule asking for your support. We have lots of DJ tag teams lined up, as well as special pledge drive programming that will really drive home just how unique a radio station like ours is. Also, we can't forget about the great swag we'll have available, including a brand new KMSU t-shirt, and an intensely Minnesotan music premium. You'll also be able to hear the Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go, which will kick off at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 30. It'll be another chaotic collection of vinyl, art, and live music, as well as an all-around celebration of all things KMSU. You don't want to miss it.
