KMSU SPRING DRIVE SETS NEW FUND RAISING RECORD!

KMSU reminds its listeners constantly that together we make great radio, and the 2026 Spring Pledge Drive provided overwhelming proof of this. By the end of the Shuffle Function 24-Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go Radio Heroes donated over $56,000, surpassing the previous record by over $3000! Your generosity is truly humbling, and we can never thank you enough for everything you do to help keep independent public radio alive and well in Southern Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the world!
Radio Heroes gave generously through the entire drive, meeting matching grants and hitting goals, and it all came to a head during the Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go, which kicked off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. Shyboy Tim & Shelley from the Shuffle Function Morning show stayed on the air for 24 hour straight, surviving only on the basic human needs of caffeine, rock and roll, and listener generosity. During that time they played loads of music, crates of vinyl, recordings of Jandek in Mankato, Sunrise with Sun Ra, and a couple of crazy hours of Radio Roulette.
By noon on May 1st the matching grant was doubled, pushing KMSU past its pledge drive goal and putting them within $1000 of setting an all time pledge drive record. Radio heroes continued pledging and by 1:30 that afternoon KMSU had broken the previous pledge drive goal, and by 6:00 p.m. KMSU had raised over $56,500 dollars, surpassing the goal by nearly $12,000! It was a thrilling conclusion to an exciting pledge drive, and we're all overwhelmed by your generosity and your belief in what we do up here. We truly cannot do it without you. Proof again that together we make great radio!
