Two words: THANK YOU! Radio Heroes, you have once again come through for us during the KMSU Fall Pledge Drive and we couldn't be more grateful. Your generosity not only allowed us to hit our drive goal of $33,300, but the final tally by the end of the weekend went well past that! Absolutely incredible. Thank you just doesn't seem strong enough. Maybe DOUBLE MAX THANK YOU? We'll workshop that. Words just can't fully convey our gratitude, though. You are truly the best in the biz, Radio Heroes. Together we make great radio.

The station hit its goal during The Exhibitionists on Thursday, October 30th when co-host Ann Rosenquist Fee issued a challenge that if they could raise $500 during the hour she'd play a recording of her high school choir singing a Jesus Christ Superstar medley, and that goal was met in short order. CLICK THIS LINK to hear the archived show for a limited time.

Radio Heroes continued to donate through the afternoon and then Shuffle Function returned at six p.m. that night for three hours of Shuffle Function Radio Roulette. Listeners could pledge and pick a number and then hosts Shyboy Tim & Shelley would pull the record with the matching number, then flip a coin to determine the side and roll dice to determine the track. It can be a musical minefield, but the radio gods smiled upon them and delivered a solid playlist. CLICK THIS LINK to hear the archived show for a limited time.

The final day of the drive fell on Halloween, and it ended with Polka Til You Puke, a three hour Polka-and-pledging party during the Shuffle Function Morning Show. Professional Polka fans Maude & Katie Jo pitched in to help, and concertina player Tom Moran stopped by to bring live Polka to the proceedings. The energy of the morning started the day right, and listeners ended up pushing the station $3000 over the goal! Never ever underestimate the magic of Polka music! When the dust had settled and Monday rolled around the final drive total was over $40,000 total funds raised, and almost exactly $7000 past the drive goal. Remarkable. KMSU DJs put out the call and you responded with incredible kindness and generosity. We're still getting our bearings and will be ordering the pledge drive swag soon, so please be patient with us. Your thank you gifts will be brightening up your mailboxes soon!

Once again (and again and again) we can't thank you enough for your support. We're so lucky to be a part of this community. You are truly the best.

Love,
Your radio pals at 89.7 the Maverick
