Barbara Hubbard

BIO

I am a lifelong Minnesotan and received a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College in 1985. During the earliest phase of my career, I worked in multiple capacities for the City of Faribault, first as the city’s planning manager and later as assistant city manager. During that time, I completed substantial graduate coursework in Urban and Regional Studies at Mankato State. Afterward I shifted into executive roles in commercial development and construction, working with two large national contractors, Kraus-Anderson and PCL.

At present I serve as Vice President of Shaw-Lundquist Construction at its headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota. I have a background in many types of construction, including tribal gaming and hospitality, manufacturing, sports, multi-family, retail, and higher education. During my forty-year career I have served on many community non-profits boards of directors, including The Family Partnership, Neighborhood House, and the Inver Hills Community College Foundation. I received an MBA from the University of St. Thomas with a finance concentration.

Away from work, I am focused on my wonderful family, my wife Madeline, and our adult daughters Brielle, Mallory and Liza. Madeline is a Mankato State graduate with a degree in criminal justice. I am also a published fiction writer. My first novel, Until the Big Water Takes Them, was published in 2023 and my second novel is due to be released in 2026.
