Summer 2025 Faculty Development Programming

Creating Inclusive Teaching and Learning Spaces is a professional development opportunity specifically designed to support the achievement of the new Article 22 equity goals, which will be offered throughout May and June. We invite you to join us as we work toward Destination 2030 and support student success. Programs are available in person or online. Part One: Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto Book Discussion

All participants will complete a 3-session book discussion. Participants will identify 2-3 specific strategies that they will incorporate into Part 2 of the workshop.

Setting an Inclusive Tone: Adapting Your Syllabus to Support Student Success

Instructors will explore how a syllabus can be used to set the tone for an inclusive classroom. Through this program, instructors will explore techniques and best practices for humanizing a syllabus, including creating a liquid syllabus.

Part Two: Inclusive Writing: Adapting WI Courses for Diverse Learners

Assessment design and writing instruction delivery will be examined through an equity lens in various disciplinary contexts to identify opportunities for adaptation. Instructors will review whether their current courses and writing assignments/activities meet WI intensive course learning outcomes.

Part Two: Inclusive Learning Through Universal Design: Adapting Your Courses for Student Success

Instructors to design courses that minimize barriers and maximize learning opportunities for all students. Instructors will apply UDL principles to improve student engagement, equitable access, and academic success.

Part Two: Innovative Grading Strategies: Enhancing Equity and Access in Your Courses

This program will explore the four pillars of alterative grading, alterative grading strategies, how to incorporate these strategies, and apply them to courses and syllabi.
