WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR COLLEGE MAJOR? 

I love both Mathematics and helping people, so becoming a Mathematics teacher seemed like a good path. While I didn’t end up teaching high school, I did end up tutoring and teaching Mathematics at a community and technical college shortly after graduating from Minnesota State Mankato. I soon realized my passion for post-secondary education and continued pursuing my education focusing on adult education. During my 25 years in post-secondary education, I have been an instructor, tutor, learning specialist, and disability accommodations coordinator.

WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT ADVISING?

I am passionate about student success and fostering an environment of access and inclusion for all students. Advising gives me an opportunity to work with students as they learn to navigate the post-secondary system, create plans to facilitate achievement, learn how to handle challenges, and celebrate both big and small successes.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVOR?

My favorite ice cream flavor would be any flavor that combines both chocolate and peanut butter.
