March 28: Minnesota State Mankato to Host Contemporary Vocal Concert

MANKATO, Minnesota – Minnesota State University, Mankato will present a contemporary vocal concert titled “Songs in the Key of Awesome” on Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m. at the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

Minnesota State Mankato's competitive a cappella group, Maverick Vocal Precision, is directed by professors Christi Smith, Stephanie Thorpe and Nick Wayne. The concert will be choreographed by Nathan Barker.

Maverick Vocal Precision will sing pop classics including “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder and “Take on Me” by A-Ha.  The program also features high-energy contemporary pop solos.

Said Thorpe: “The upcoming concert for Maverick Vocal Precision will be a vibrant addition to the department’s performance season. Please come see and experience our talented singers.”

Concert admission is $10 for general admission and $7 for K-12 students. University students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events.
