The Pan African Conference and Festival is a statewide cultural and humanities festival honoring the stories, artistry, scholarship and lived experiences of the African diaspora in Minnesota. As the longest-running event of its kind in the Midwest, this festival has grown from a one-day academic gathering into a multi-layered celebration of identity, heritage and intergenerational storytelling.

The 50th anniversary transforms the experience into a full cultural festival featuring live performances, visual art exhibitions, cultural pavilions, youth outreach, humanities workshops and legacy presentations from Minnesota’s most influential scholars and community leaders.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,721 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 26 colleges and seven universities.
