Condolences: Former MSU President Karen Boubel
The Minnesota State Mankato community is saddened to hear of the recent death of former MSU President Karen A. Boubel, who died on Saturday, July 25.
Boubel joined Minnesota State Mankato in 1996 as vice president for academic affairs and served as MSU’s interim president from April 18, 2001 until July 1, 2002, when Richard Davenport became president.
Boubel was the 16th person to serve as MSU president since the University's founding in 1868.
After Davenport became president in 2002, Boubel remained as vice president for academic affairs for another year, and she then served as a professor of music at MSU beginning in 2003.
We remember the many contributions Karen Boubel made to Minnesota State Mankato and express our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.
