April 6: Minnesota State Mankato to Host Free Screening of 'Kiss the Ground' Documentary During Earth Month

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Adventures and more than 20 campus and community groups are holding events throughout the month of April to celebrate Earth Month.
Many events are free and open to the public. The events are being held to promote sustainability, equity, education and wellness in the outdoors.
Event highlights from the month-long schedule include:
- Wednesday, April 1 – Full Moon Yoga
- Monday, April 6 – Film screening: “Kiss the Ground”
- Tuesday, April 7 – Outdoor climb and campfire
- Thursday, April 16 – ‘Clean the Trails’ hike at Rasmussen Woods
- Saturday, April 18 – Astronomy Open House at Andreas Observatory
- Friday, April 24 – Indigenous Astronomy Night
A 45-minute educational version of “Kiss the Ground,” an award-winning Netflix documentary film, will be shown at 6:45 p.m. Monday, April 6 in Ostrander Auditorium, located in Minnesota State Mankato’s Centennial Student Union.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and free pizza will be provided. Limited free parking is available after 6:30 p.m. near Centennial Student Union in lots 4a, 6 and 11a. Closer parking is available for a fee in the visitors pay lot (lot 4) across from Centennial Student Union.
The documentary film features activists, scientists, farmers and politicians advocating for regenerative agriculture as a key solution for climate change. After the film, attendees are invited to join in a conversation with Scott Haase, founder of Blue Dirt Farm and co-owner of Grass Fed Cattle Co., and Mriganke De, associate professor of biological studies at Minnesota State Mankato.
