Trash

MN WASTE PROCESSING CO., Mankato, MN

Large objects (mattresses, carpets, furniture, etc.) are seperated. The remaining materials are considered to be RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). RDF is sent to WILMARTH POWER PLANT in Mankato, MN to produce electrical energy. Typically 9% or less is non useable and placed in landfill.

DEM-MATERIAL RECOVERY FACILITY (MRF) Shakopee, MN. Sorted & baled to be sold to end markets to be reused into new items. Unwanted items are considered contaminants and are incinerated.

Paper/Cardboard

LJP North Mankato, MN

Compress cardboard into larger bales. Transport to different fiber mills, where cardboard is shredded, pulped & transformed into new cardboard materials.

Compost
