Welcome… I’m your LCC, Isaac Carns!

First, let me start off by saying that I am very excited to meet you all in the fall! I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Being involved with the Aviation Learning Community will help you both academically and socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major: Aviation

How/what made you decide this major? I have always loved flying from a very young age. It all started when my family flew down to Florida for spring break on a delta 767. I thought that airplane was the coolest thing I had ever seen and have been set on becoming a pilot ever since.

Year in School: Sophomore

Hometown: River Falls, WI

Favorite Food: Calamari

Advice for LC Students: Never be afraid to ask questions and show up to classes.

Smartest thing you ever did/best decision you ever made: As cliché as it may sound, joining the learning community my freshman year. I’m the first person in my family to pursue a career in aviation and many of the things surrounding flight school were very confusing to me. Luckily, I was connected to people who had already been through what I was experiencing and could help me out

Campus/LC Involvement: I am involved in the soccer club and will join flight team in the fall

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: Fly airplanes and play soccer

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: Go to the gym, play soccer, and adventure outside.
