Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Performing Arts News Release
MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the 2025-2026 Theatre and Dance season with “Misery” in the Andreas Theatre at the Early Center for the Performing Arts.
When bestselling author Paul Sheldon is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, he quickly realizes he’s not a guest—he’s a prisoner in her secluded home. What begins as care and admiration spirals into obsession and violence as Annie forces Paul to write a new ending for her favorite book as if his life depends on it. Based on the Stephen King novel from 1987, this screenplay will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
“Misery” runs October 22-25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are $10 regular, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older and children under 16; and $5 for Minnesota State Mankato students.
The box office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at MSUTheatre.com or over the phone at 507-389-6661.
“The Women of Troy” is up next, Nov. 6-8 & 13-16 in the Ted Paul Theatre.
