MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the Mainstage theatre season with Euripides’ “The Women of Troy.”
“The Women of Troy” runs Nov. 6-8 and 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 & 16 at 2 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato.
A timeless Greek tragedy, Euripides’ “The Women of Troy” is a gripping and haunting portrayal of the human cost of war, told through the eyes of the women left behind. In the wake of Troy’s destruction, the surviving Trojan women face exile and unimaginable loss. Stripped of power but not of dignity, they confront their fate with courage, defiance, and heartbreaking humanity.
This production features many student designs, including scene design by first-year MFA candidate Eve Gilmore, costume design by second-year MFA candidate Vicky Schlenova, and sound design by third-year MFA candidate Anastasiia Didenko.
Tickets are $18 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for MSU students. The Box Office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, or buy single tickets online at MSUTheatre.com. The Box Office line is 507-389-6661.
