Nov. 13: Minnesota State Mankato to Provide Free Dental, Health Services to Active, Reserve, Retired Military
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Allied Health and Nursing is honoring active, reserve and retired military members by offering a variety of dental, hearing and health services for free on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the University’s Clinical Sciences Building (150 South Road; building is located north of the Taylor Center and east of Ford Hall).
During the “Health for Heroes” event, the public dental clinic (Clinical Sciences Building, Room 128) is offering free dental cleanings, exams, x-rays and fluoride treatments. Appointments are required. To schedule, call 507-389-2147.
The Center for Communication Sciences and Disorders (Clinical Sciences Building, Room 115) will be offering free hearing screenings from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 1-5 p.m. on Nov. 13. Appointments are recommended but not required. To schedule, call 507-389-1542.
Additional free resources are available with no appointment necessary. They include swallowing education (9 a.m.-noon); physical fitness assessments (11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.); blood pressure screenings (9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.); and nutrition and recipes (11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.).
