May 3: Minnesota State Mankato's Wind Ensemble to Perform in Concert

MANKATO, Minnesota – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Amy K. Roisum Foley, will present its spring concert, titled “Spring Festival” on Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m. in Elias J. Halling Recital Hall, 320 Maywood Ave.
Featured band literature includes Festal Scenes: Jojôteki - “Matsuri” by Japanese composer, Yasuhide Ito; Fugue in G minor by Johann Sebastian Bach; soundtrack highlights from the Spanish film “La Mula” suite for wind orchestra by award-winning composer, Oscar Navarro; and “Rhapsody for Flute” by Stephen Bulla, featuring Julieanne Knutsen as flute soloist.
The afternoon concert concludes with the ensemble performing excerpts from “Steamboat Willie” featuring an appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Concert admission is $10 for general admission and $7 for K-12 students. University students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events.
