May 3-4: Minnesota State Mankato Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremonies

Mankato, Minn. – Approximately 1,750 Minnesota State University, Mankato students will participate in five spring commencement ceremonies on campus Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena.

On Friday, commencement ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m. for the College of Business and at 6 p.m. for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

On Saturday, commencement ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. for the College of Science, Engineering and Technology, at 12 p.m. for the College of Education and at 3 p.m. for the College of Allied Health and Nursing.

Candidates for graduate degrees will graduate with the college of their affiliation.

The ceremonies are not ticketed events, and there are no restrictions on the number of guests who may attend for each graduate. Live-streaming captioning services will be provided for each ceremony.

Jim Grabowska, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Minnesota State system, will greet the candidates at the commencement ceremonies.

President Edward Inch will present diplomas to the new graduates. Brian Zins, a 2002 Minnesota State Mankato graduate and director of Alumni Relations, will welcome new graduates to the Alumni Association.

Student speakers for Friday’s ceremonies will be Aidan Ryan and Xavier Thomas at 3 p.m. and Lyreshia D. Ghostlon-Green and Sachita Pokhrel at 6 p.m.

Student speakers for Saturday’s ceremonies will be Swastik Lamsal and Xeng Yang at 9 a.m., Madeleine Kelly and Maia Pruim at 12 p.m. and Logan Howe and PJ Gurung at 3 p.m.

Douglas Snapp and Michael Olson, faculty members in Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Music, will arrange the music at the five ceremonies.

The national anthem will be performed at the ceremonies by a Concert Choir Ensemble from the Department of Performing Arts. Elisabeth Cherland, a faculty member in the Department of Performing Arts, will conduct the Concert Choir Ensemble.

Additional music will be performed at the ceremonies by Carson Cobb, James Commisso, Takuto Koseki, Kenya Moalin, Alex Much, Megan Smythe and Sarah Wei, with Amy Roisum-Foley, faculty member in the Department of Performing Arts, conducting.

Faculty member Michael Thursby will direct the Maverick Machine Athletic Band at the ceremonies.
