MANKATO, Minnesota – Minnesota State University, Mankato will present a contemporary vocal concert Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
Minnesota State Mankato's competitive a cappella group, Maverick Vocal Precision, is directed by Professor Christi Smith, Stephanie Thorpe, and Professor Nick Wayne. The concert will be choreographed by Nathan Barker.
Known for its blend of musical accuracy and expressive performance, Maverick Vocal Precision showcases student singers performing a diverse repertoire that spans contemporary vocal arrangements and jazz-influenced selections. The ensemble emphasizes tight harmonies, stylistic versatility, and a polished ensemble sound. Audiences can expect a program that is both musically compelling and accessible, offering something for longtime a cappella enthusiasts and new listeners alike.
Concert admission is $10 for general admission and $7 for K-12 students. University students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events.
