MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Theatre & Dance will open “Shadowlands” by William Nicholson on June 26 in the Andreas Theatre at the Early Center for Performing Arts.

This is the true and unexpected love story of C.S. Lewis, Irishman and famous author of “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and American poet Joy Davidman. This play tells the story of Lewis’s personal struggles with pain and grief through his relationship with a fan of his work, who becomes his wife. Funny, poignant and insightful, “Shadowlands” is a moving portrait of love and loss, faith and doubt, as inspired by Lewis’s own “A Grief Observed.”

“Shadowlands” runs June 26-29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts at Minnesota State University, Mankato. This production is made possible by TRIO Programs.

Tickets are $16 regular and $14 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more.

Next up in Highland Summer Theatre is Sister Act, which opens July 9.
