Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Performing Arts News Release
MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts will close its 2026 Highland Summer Theatre season with Disney’s “Freaky Friday” from June 10-13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre, located on campus in the Earley Center for Performing Arts.
This Disney musical is based on the novel “Freaky Friday” and the familiar Disney films. When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again before mom’s big wedding. “Freaky Friday” is a hilarious, high-energy, heartfelt musical comedy that proves walking a mile in someone else’s shoes can change everything.
The actors who play the two leads in this production, Jacynda Santiago and Callie McConnell, navigate portraying one character, then a second character when the body swap occurs. Their acting chops really shine along with their beautiful vocals.
Individual tickets are $25 each, and $21 for seniors and children under 16. Minnesota State University, Mankato students can get $5 tickets online or at the box office.
This production is made possible by a generous sponsorship from Farrish Johnson Law Office.
The Box Office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, or buy tickets online at MSUTheatre.com. Call the Box Office at 507-389-6661.
