MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Performing Arts will present musical artists Jennifer Grimm and Joe Cruz in concert Tuesday, Jan. 27. The concert will take place in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue at 7 p.m.
The duo features acclaimed vocalist Jennifer Grimm, a dynamic performer whose soulful warmth, technical finesse and genre-spanning versatility have earned her national attention. From her roots performing with one of America’s last traveling vaudeville families to appearances at Carnegie Hall and television placements on Parenthood, Suits and House of Lies, Grimm’s artistry brings a vibrant emotional center to every song.
Guitarist Joe Cruz has been a mainstay of the Twin Cities music and theater scene for over four decades, effortlessly transitioning between various musical styles, demonstrating his remarkable versatility. From strumming an acoustic guitar to shredding on an electric guitar, picking bluegrass mandolin, and playing Cuban tres and Puerto Rican cuatro, Cruz’s musical prowess is truly exceptional.
General admission for the concert is $10. Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD.
