MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the Mainstage theatre season with Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard.”
“The Cherry Orchard” runs Feb. 19-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 28 & March 1 at 2 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato. All MSU students are invited to a free final preview on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The scenery for this production, designed by graduate student Even Gilmore, includes a fully functional carousel on stage that is utilized throughout the production. This classical adaptation also includes beautiful movement by director of the dance program Daniel Stark, as the production breathes fresh life into Chekhov’s classic tale.
Tickets are $18 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for MSU students. The Box Office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, or buy single tickets online at MSUTheatre.com. The Box Office line is 507-389-6661.
