April 29: Minnesota State Mankato Music Class Holding 'Can Jam' to Encourage Food Donations to Maverick Food Pantry

MANKATO, Minnesota – Inspired by local and regional hunger awareness campaigns, students in Dale Haefner’s Music Management and Concert Production class at Minnesota State University, Mankato are sponsoring a food donation drive at the Crooked Pint Ale House, 1850 Madison Ave. in Mankato.
The event, Can Jam 2026, will be held Wednesday, April 29 from 7-9:30 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food items will support the Maverick Food Pantry at Minnesota State Mankato.
Individuals donating non-perishable food items will receive raffle tickets for their food donations. Raffle bags will consist of generous in-kind donations of gift cards and branded merchandise from local businesses. Raffle drawings will take place throughout the evening, and raffle winners must be present to win. A grand prize drawing will take place at 9:15 p.m. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the evening between sets from Mankato-area musicians.
Professor Dale Haefner said: “The concert production class will present a great night of music and charity. My students recognize the importance of helping those in need, and this event benefits Minnesota State Mankato students who are experiencing food insecurity.”
The Can Jam 2026 event is free and open to the public. All ages are encouraged to attend. Attendees are urged, but not required, to donate food items in support of the Maverick Food Pantry at Minnesota State Mankato.
