MANKATO, Minnesota — The Minnesota State University, Mankato Jazz Mavericks will present an evening of high-energy big band jazz on Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in the intimate setting of Halling Recital Hall.

Under the direction of Professor Sarah Costello, the Jazz Mavericks showcase the university’s premier jazz ensemble, featuring student musicians from across campus. The concert also features the jazz combo. The program will highlight a dynamic mix of classic big band repertoire alongside contemporary jazz works, offering audiences a vibrant and engaging concert experience.

Known for their tight ensemble playing and standout soloists, the Jazz Mavericks bring the energy and tradition of the big band era into a modern context. From swinging standards to bold new arrangements, the performance promises something for seasoned jazz fans and newcomers alike.

General admission is $10 and $7 for students (K-12) and children. Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to hss.mnsu.edu/music-events.
