Spring Break

All residence communities close at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6.

Students may register to stay over the break period for no additional cost.


Residents who wish to stay March 6-15 should register at their Front Desk/Stadium Heights Office between February 17 and March 4. There is no additional cost to stay on campus over spring break.

Students found in the residence communities during break who did not register will be charged $50 and may be escorted off campus by University Security if disruptive.


Food Service

Food service ends at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6 and resumes at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. There are no meals provided during the break period, however, students may use Dining Dollars, cash, debit/credit at retail dining locations. Please note that retail dining locations are open on a limited basis.

University Dining Center

  • Closes at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6. Reopens at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.

Chet's Place

  • Closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 6. Reopens at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.

1872 Grill

  • Closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 6. Reopens at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.
What's Open Now?


Only registered students are allowed to leave their vehicles on campus over the break period. Crawford, McElroy, Julia Sears, & Preska residents should park in Lot 14 or 16 green stalls. Stadium Heights residents should park in front of Building 705.

If you are leaving for break, you must take your vehicle with you or make other parking arrangements. In the event of a snow emergency, you are responsible for moving your vehicle in accordance with parking guidelines.

Facility Inspections

All rooms will be inspected after the residence communities close on Friday, March 6 by Residential Life Staff. Students do not need to unplug electrical items in their room.

Students should throw away perishable items, take out the garbage, and return To-Go containers to the dining center prior to their departure for spring break.

Mail & Packages

Mail will be processed Monday-Friday and only delivered to registered students' mailboxes (Stadium Heights will continue to receive mail per USPS schedule). Packages may be picked up during Front Desk Hours (4:30-6:30 p.m. each day).

Before you Leave

Before you leave for Spring Break, do these things:

  1. Close & lock your windows.
  2. Remove all trash from your room.
  3. Return To-Go containers to the dining center.
  4. Close your blinds if you live on the 1st floor.
  5. Turn off your electronics.
  6. Turn off the lights.
  7. Close your room door & make sure the lock is secure.
